Steam Time: How to Steam Your Hair for Added Moisture
The “moisture” in every moisturizing product is water; the goal is for the product to deliver water. Enhance the moisture that your hair receives through steaming!

There are many benefits to steam; great way to get moisture into low porosity coarse hair, increases moisture levels in the scalp to diminish dandruff, prevents shrinkage and increases blood flow to the scalp promoting hair growth. Most people steam because it’s a great way to open up the hair follicles to receive all the benefits of deep conditioning treatments.
You can start steaming right now, at home easily. Start with freshly washed hair that has been detangled, generously apply Jane Carter Solution Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner and follow the steps below:
- Soak a clean towel under water.
- Place wet towel in microwave for 2 minutes or until very warm.
- Wring loosely; wrap towel around your head, covering all of your hair.
- Cover towel with a plastic cap.
- Sit under hooded or bonnet dryer for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Rinse hair, apply Hydrate Quench for an extra dose of moisture and to strengthen hair with soy protein and panthenol. Follow up with Hydrate Seal & Shine to lock in moisture and seal hair cuticle to retain moisture; style as usual.
Tip – Another easy way to treat yourself to more moisture is by placing a humidifier in your bedroom which will add moisture back into the air and your hair while you sleep.
Love Your Hair,
Jane
