At Jane Carter Solution, we take time to focus and thank those in the hair community who have made a difference. In the spotlight refers to the fashion forward hair divas who continue to support, educate and grow the community. Michelle Obama has enlightened us all with her words of wisdom, trendy bangs and beautiful smile. There are many individuals out there who stand as positive and inspirational role models for young girls. We want to thank you for your encouragement! Check back often to see who is in the spotlight next.

Knock Out Bangs

What an amazing woman! Intelligent, beautiful, passionate, grounded…with the ability to captivate the world with her smile and completely dominate the 2013 Inaugural Ceremonies with her bangs!

During the luncheon, the president said, “I love Michelle Obama,” at a candlelight reception at the National Building Museum, “And to address the most significant event of this weekend: I love her bangs.” Clearly Mrs. Obama, well known and admired for her fashion sense, is aware that bangs are haute these days! Yes, they’ve been around forever, and your 5-year-old niece may have them, but recently bangs have become a full-fledged fashion trend.

Her new coif, a sleek shoulder-length cut with thick, heavy bangs…the bang is texturized which gives a softer piecey edge to the normal blunt style. To duplicate:

Voila, “bangtastic”!

Kerry Washington is always polished, poised and phenomenal!

She stood out on the red carpet, draped in a rose gold and silver sequined covered Vivienne Westwood gown to the 2012 Emmy Awards. There to present the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie award, Kerry was “award show” perfection from head-to-toe! The Fred Leighton jewels that dripped from ears complimented her hair that was softly pulled back into a simple knot.

Oprah in Her Natural State

Adorned in an embellished Badgley Mischka dress, Alexis Bittar earrings and a Jordan Alexander ring -Oprah graces the cover of the September 2012 cover of O Magazine…with her natural hair.

Oprah has graced the cover of every single issue of O Magazine, 144 issues, with straight tresses. She decided to share her hair journey over the years; the good, the bad and the acceptance of her natural texture that she now has. She says that wearing her hair naturally—as she often does on weekends and on vacation—makes her feel unencumbered.

Some are claiming that her natural look is more “styled” and less authentic, stating that it looks like a braid-out on slightly relaxed hair.

The issue hits newsstands Aug. 7; will you pick up a copy?
