College Curls

Many women consider and/or decide to transition to natural hair while in college. Why? College is a turning point in many people’s lives, for the first time they are on their own. Making decisions, expressing, and becoming the person that they want to be…hair included.

Are You Listening?

“Sometimes the Universe shakes you to wake you.” –unknown

The “shake” never comes right away. It comes after the whispers, the gentle poking, and screams that have ignored…you know, all the signs that we miss along the path. Once the signs are missed over and over and over again, the Universe has no choice but to shake us!

It doesn’t matter in which manner the Universe shakes you; it’s all about what you do once you are awake.

Avoid Silicones in Curly Hair Products

Spend time reading the labels, it is imperative! You want to avoid silicones at all costs; the only way to do that is by fully reading the product labels. In the salon, beauty supply store, grocery store, drugstores – EVERYWHERE.

Silicones do not dissolve in water, causing build up on hair and scalp. Build up weighs your hair down, clogs the follicles, dulls shine, and prevents healthy hair growth. Here is an informative article from

I am proud to say that Curl Defining Cream contains no silicones!
