How Do Men Feel About Natural Hair

How do they feel? I’ve heard all kinds of responses; from a woman who was natural and made the decision to relax her hair after 6 years because she could not find a man (her hair was slightly passed her shoulders when natural) to a woman who has a boyfriend that loves the ease and smell of her natural hair.

I received this in my inbox, Natural Hair Daze by Marcus Randolph, Men’s Style Expert

“Oh the tension that style commentator and trend setter Marcus Randolph remembers in the Good and Bad Hair scenes in Spike Lee’s School Daze. It was a period that made him think about the whole hair thang. That was in college. These days, his wife’s natural hair keeps him smiling. "To me, a woman wearing her hair natural is being authentic.  What you see is what you get," he says. He adds that it may be by chance, but he finds that many natural haired women are often creative and artistic which is appealing. His style watch advice: if you want change your hairstyle no matter what style it is, it’s a big decision so give your sweetie a natural head’s up.”

Tell me, how does your man (or your previous man) feel about your natural hair?

You Are An Aggregation of Your Words

"What we speak becomes the house we live in." -Hafiz

The words of love and strength we speak to others will come back to you as a blessing. As we give out kindness and love to others it heals the empty places within us.  Your words have the power to comfort a child, encourage a stranger, relate to a friend, create laughter, or make a heart skip a beat!

You must recognize that words are a potent force to be reckoned with. Take the time to recognize the full impact of the words you speak. Poorly chosen words can kill enthusiasm, impact self-esteem, lower expectations, and hold people back. Watch your language, your judgement, the degree of harshness or anger or ugliness that you put into the world…as they surround you.

There certainly is power in all of our words, if you are unsure of how to use your power for the betterment of yourself and others than there is far greater power in your silence.

Hurts So Good

"You can experience pain in vain or you can experience pan and GAIN…it’s up you."

Unfortunately, pain is inevitable in life. That’s the bad news. The good news is that deep inside the pain is an opportunity to grow. Pain is essential to growth!

What hurts the most in life emotionally can reveal the truth of who we really are– this helps us grow and heal into our best selves. It’s this pain that motivates us to make a change in or lives, if you choose to experience and gain.

The old falling away to make room for the new can feel overwhelming but on the other side is the life you were meant to live.

What beauty have you found on the other side of pain?
